Anonymous: can you elaborate on the last post? why is doing that wrong?

I don’t necessarily think that it’s wrong, but I certainly don’t think it’s a good idea. First and foremost, buying something that doesn’t fit you because you want to wear it someday is encouraging bad body images. You’re saying that you’re not good enough as you are now and putting stress on yourself and your body. Secondly, there’s a chance that you may never be able to wear it, which only serves as a reminder of failure (and a black hole for money you could have spent on clothes that you could have worn).

I think if you’re buying a dress to inspire yourself to be healthy, that’s absolutely fine. But if you’re buying a dress in a double-zero just for the sake of saying that you fit into a double-zero, or if the dress you want comes in a size that doesn’t fit you, that’s not OK. A lady accepts herself as she is and doesn’t change herself for anyone other than herself, much less a pair of pants.
