Anonymous: what do you mean by "keep your arms and legs inside the car", literal or is it a metaphor?

I mean this quite literally. It is not at all tasteful to have your arm hanging out the window or a foot dangling by the sideview mirror. Of course, it’s fine to roll the windows down and put your hand out to feel the air rush by, but to put out your feet or your limbs is rude and stupid.
